We are a literate roleplay that takes place far in the future. The world has accepted the idea of the empowered but others still have their ill opinions about them. They point at the empowered and their school to place the blame for the rogues and their monsters. Countries have fallen apart though not at the fault of the rogues but at their own accord while others have picked up their pieces. Become a student and learn about your powers or be a teacher to teach your knowledge. Keep the world safe for the younger empowered and the humans who can't defend themselves.

"You're homework for tonight is to read pages 142-163. Expect a review on it tomorrow," Kaia announced as she wrote the assignment on the board. A couple students in the room let out loud sighs as they opened their planners to record their homework. Kaia pursed her lips and replied, "I can assign more if you like." The sighs immediately silenced after that. Of course, she was half kidding but she didn't bother to inform her class of that. As much as her class complained about the lengthy amount of homework Kaia gave on a daily basis, most of them managed to complete it on time. They didn't give Kaia any reason to complain so she was satisfied. Push a class too hard and they might end up turning on her. Speaking of which...
Kaia's eyes traveled to the country boy that arrived at the academy only a year before. Compared to all the other students, Lukas was one of the newer members at the academy. Honestly, Kaia could not understand how the boy manage to last so long with a power like his without any training. Then again, one could say that Kaia's arrival at the academy was rather late too. When Lukas first arrived at the academy, he seemed so engrossed with the city that it was rather cute. Kaia never met anyone so detached from the modern society. His naive mentality was so different from the messed up brains she had to deal with. Strangely, though, he had a fear of women. At first, Kaia did not think much of it. Most of the students at the academy had difficult beginnings. Some were ostracized by their family and others were almost killed. Still, Lukas was different from the other students.
Even after a year, Lukas's fear of women still did not die down. While he seemed like he was okay around the female students, Kaia could always feel a nervousness emitting from him. When any of the female students yelled or raised their voice, Lukas would flinch. Sometimes even Kaia's strict voice would ignite fear in the boy. Whenever she noticed this, she'd immediately feel terrible after. She wasn't the type of woman that wanted to scare her students, after all. Besides, Lukas's reactions in general was not natural. At the most, Kaia could assume that something traumatic happened to the boy when he was a child. It made Kaia wonder if Lukas was abused... or even worse. If this was the case, Kaia would feel terrible if someone took advantage of that weakness in the academy.
The sound of the bell ringing quickly shook Kaia out of her thoughts. As the class began to file out of the room, Kaia called to the boy, "Lukas, please stay. I have something I need to discuss with you." Kaia inwardly winced at the harshness of her voice. Sometimes, she really hated how her job as a teacher drilled in her brain the tendency to speak almost without any emotion in her voice. She really hoped she didn't scare the boy away. To a certain extent, Kaia knew she really shouldn't following through with her plan to question the boy. They boy already was jumpy around women. Asking him personal questions infringed on his right to privacy. Still, the emotions he gave off were too heartrending to ignore.

Lukas never hated psychology class, truthfully he found it fascinating if not a little confusing at times. Like with most classes he sat quietly taking notes on things that seemed important (usually everything), and gave the teacher his utmost attention. He was here to learn and he really did like the classes here as it was so much different from the small school that he went too in contrast. While the teacher, Miss Roethe was a nice there were still moments where she scared him, and he knew that he was being ridiculous about it, sometimes she had to be firm with her students who could get rather rowdy, it was her job to be in control of her class.
But he just couldn't help it. It always made him think that the worst was going to happen, his mother was loving once and that changed easily enough, and quickly too. Til he didn't know the woman in front of him that demanded the best out of him, demanding him to be 'normal' even though he clearly wasn't.
Once upon a time Lukas was so excited about his powers that he wanted to hone them despite the fact that his bones broke every time he used it. He wanted to help the family with this power. But his parents hated it, didn't want it to exist. Made him fear it because using his powers meant his mother found out, which just equaled more pain. The counselor at his old school said that his fear must've been suppressing his powers so that he didn't blow someone up just by touching them and that thought alone was terrifying.
You're homework for tonight is to read pages 142-163. Expect a review on it tomorrow.” Hearing the teachers voice broke him out of his thoughts. Pulling out his day planner he marked down 'Read 142-163 Psy-class' in one of the empty spaces below as loud sighs could be heard. He smiled slightly at Miss Roethe reply to silence them. She was great at this class and she was an amazing teacher, he was glad to at least be passing this course.
Hearing the bell ring he moved to pack up his stuff, “Lukas, please stay. I have something I need to discuss with you.” Her voice rang out once more, making the said boy pause and blink in surprise at the request while at the same time feeling nervousness bubble beneath his skin. There was some teasing remarks on how he was in trouble while the simple farm boy tried to think of a reason as to why she would want him to stay behind. Was it his grades? He could try and do better might need to get a tutor or stay after class more to go over the stuff he didn't understand but it wasn't impossible.
Swallowing thickly he finished placing his books inside of his bag before standing up and heading to stand in front of her desk. They were the only two in the room now... “What did you want to talk to me about Miss Roethe?” He inquired politely, “I'm sorry about the mark on your last exam, I had trouble understanding some of it.” English was not his first language, and he was quite sloppy at it so reading a textbook in English took most of his time trying to translate it into Danish for him to read properly...
Right when the words left her mouth, Kaia immediately felt a pang of regret. She had no clue what in the world she was thinking. Outside of class, she didn't even possess the ability to give someone replies that had exceeded the amazing maximum of one word. How in the world did she, one of the most awkward adults on campus, expect to have a rather personal conversation with a student when she couldn't even do something simple like that? Oh, she was in way over her head and she now would have to pay the price.
"There's no need to be nervous, you're grades are fine. It's understandable that you would have a hard time; it's hard learning things in a language that is not your native tongue," Kaia replied smoothly. She almost let out a loud sigh of relief. So far so good. She managed not to make a complete fool of herself... yet... Of course, she didn't even get to the meat of the problem. She paused for a couple seconds as she tried to find the best way to go about bringing up the subject.
"Are you getting bullied?" She asked rather suddenly. Her eyes widened a fraction of an inch when she realized how imposing her question was. "No, wait..." She squeaked out nervously. She held out her hand in a rather pathetic attempt to save the situation. She wanted to slam her head into a wall. It was times like these that made her realize why she chose to be a psychology teacher instead of a psychologist. She had absolutely no social skills, none whatsoever. You didn't need social skills to teach. You say what you have to say and then it's all over when the bell rings.
"What I mean to say is how is the Academy? Are the other students treating you nicely?" She asked. She bit her lip. Well, it wasn't exactly the direction she was hoping to head off into, but it was a good start. Even though she had that rather terrible slip-up earlier, she managed to cover it up rather well. Her voice came out rather maturely instead of that mangled dying tone she previously used.
"I-If you don't feel comfortable answering those questions, it's okay," Kaia quickly followed up. Kaia took in a deep breath and let it out. If a "chill pill" really existed, Kaia definitely would take an overdose at the moment. Knowing that Lukas had a fear of women made Kaia even more on the edge than she usually was. She wanted to help the boy yet at the same time, she didn't want to scare him away. It was a difficult balance that Kaia did not have the experience to deal with yet.
